June 14 Pickle Country's Grape & Dragon Country's Ah-QLast night Korean soccer team defeated Togo by 2:1, and all the news reports that "Korea becomes the Hope of Asia" which could be understood as "Korea is the Pride of Asia"...
Sounds funny~~ Chinese soccer is and will be as awful as you can imagine, it has not any possibility to defeat any strong teams. When Japan failed the day before yesterday, the casters of CCTV shew their pity to "Asia" teams. However, I think China has neither position nor qualification to say such words wih Ah-Q style.
Actually, I know nothing about soccer, and I dislike Koreans. I hate their shallow nationalist and arrogance. For instance, they forced Chinese government to translate Seoul from 汉城 into 首尔, so can I imagine we also have to translate Korea from 韩国 into 高丽? Besides, as once a dependency of ancient China, they almost got rid of Chinese Characters while Japanese are still using most of them... Weird and abnormal country.
Well, let's come back to the point. Frankly, Koreans victory has nothing to do with any Asian country including China. The victory only belongs to Korea soccer team and their Red Monsters. I don't think the media of Japan or any other Asian countries will crown Korea as Asia's hope, Asia's pride. Like the story of Fox and Sour Grapes, if the fox had eaten the grapes and regarded they were sweet, I believe Chinese would speak out proudly "They were planted by my neighbor!" Ridiculous, really. You can openly envy them, hate them, but please don't use Ah-Q's way of thinking to ease yourself, it has no good to you. And it definitely will demean yourself and drive others up, you will be looked down upon day by day...
So stop whining, stop putting your hope to other, we have to look at ourselves straightly and objectively. We might hardly get chance to win the games, but we have other ways to defeat them, right?
